Abstract

Ideally, the practice of thread-lift beauty procedures is conducted to maintain family harmony and improve physical appearance for one's spouse, in line with Islamic values that prioritize good intentions and purposes. However, in reality, this practice is often seen as controversial by some scholars who are concerned about its impact on Sharia values and the potential harm it may cause. This study aims to analyze the perspectives of dayah scholars in Idi Timur District regarding Islamic law on thread-lift beauty procedures and their relevance to family harmony within Aceh's socio-cultural context. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with an empirical legal approach, relying on interviews with scholars and women who have undergone thread-lift procedures in the area. The findings indicate that the thread-lift practice is considered relevant for enhancing family harmony, as it can improve a wife's appearance, thereby fostering happiness within the family in accordance with the values of sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah. However, most dayah scholars still oppose this practice, viewing it as causing alterations to the body and posing a greater potential for harm.
