Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to our editorial team will be considered for publication if they meet the following criteria:

The article must be scholarly and focus on issues related to contemporary Islamic studies. It should be original, based on research or literature review, and contribute to the development of Islamic scholarship.
The article must be original, unpublished, and not under review for publication in another journal.
It must consist of the following components: title, author’s name, institution, email address, abstract, keywords, main content, and references.
The title should be clear, precise, and not exceed 14 words.
Authors should not include academic titles.
The manuscript should be typed in MS Word using Garamond font, size 12 pt, single spacing, on B5 paper, with a length of approximately 15 to 25 pages (authors must use the provided journal template).
All submissions must include an abstract of 100–200 words and 3–5 keywords.
- Research paper abstracts should contain the title, objectives, methods, and findings.
- Non-research paper abstracts should contain the title, objectives, and discussion.
Manuscripts must be typed in Microsoft Word format (.RTF or .DOC) and submitted through the online submission system on this website or via email as an attachment.
Bibliographic references must be listed in footnotes and reference lists following the style guidelines of WAHYAIN: Journal of Quranic Sociology and Hadith.

Submitted papers will be reviewed and edited without changing the substantive content.
Transliterated manuscripts must follow the standard transliteration system.
Rejected manuscripts will be notified to the author via OJS or email.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check their submission’s compliance with all the following items. Submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines:

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document format.
Where available, URLs for references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics rather than underlining (except for URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at appropriate points rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which can be found in the About the Journal section.
If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
